CHAVTASTIC! One barman that gives a crap, an older one that may grant U an audience inbetween trips outside to sook on a 'rollie', one that looks like she's about 14 so that might do for the lost element from the old Cactus Jacks wandering around the town slobbering at travel magazines in Thomas Cooks and one that likes to tell you she's just a bit crazy and random. Not that random obviously as she gives you the same routine everytime. As for the bar... well what can U say, dress code seems to range from Poundstretcher to JJB Sports sale wi trackies and old jackets on top serving as the outdoor look for the colder nights coming up. Don't go searching for a deal or looking to score in Inverness when all knowledge of this is contained at the front door amongst the smoking fraternity and information freely offered. Beer is passable, lager in better condition, and the bar counter containing a mixture of sub-alcoholic and pre-court punters in their late 30's and 40's. The younger chavs are up and down, and back and forward regularly suggesting either the bar sells a serious amount of red bull or they're happily provided for by the imbibing of some other chemical based substance. Lot's of evidence on the hands of visits to Elizabeth Duke @ Argos with the entry level of 9ct gold sovs and chains, and the obligatory tattoos of the kids names and wotever mother they're entertaining this week to be seen. The visiting darts teams from other pubs dilute the locals and for this period at least they look a bit confused and under threat, however, with the threat to local post ofices, if this bar were to start cashing giros and Monday books I suspect the may firmly cement their place in the Inverness pub pecking order of one step up from the Nip Inn, and in the middle aspiring to be the Chav Capital of Inverness that is Smith & Jones

Now closed (boarded up). Not a great loss.

You think its bad now. Its about to be taken over by Blackpool based management company Publicana. The Phoenix next door has had a lucky escape in

Toilets are worse than T in the Park but it is a good laugh altough some bar staff are miserable

'sports bar' your havin' a laugh! Ben in here a few times to watch footie, and its not the best at all to see the games. Toilets absolutely mingin' and you wipe your feet when leaving! A million miles away from lafferty days, give it a miss!

got to admit it gets a bit neddy at times. when like that u feel constantly on guard, so
i wouldnt make it my first place to watch a game. lot of underage looking folk as well when busy which ok they gotta learn but dont appreciate the wide attitude of a 16 yr old thinking he is `erchie` just cos he got a coupla scoops in and is surrounded by his `pack`

think motion is the new top venue in town to watch the big games!

Had one of the best nights ever last night in Deeno's, place was mobbed, crack was great, SCOTLAND BEAT FRANCE!! and they even had a piper in playing before during and after the game, what a night, brilliant! credit where credits due and they deserve it after last night, looking forward to next scotland game and will def be watching it deeno's

Find this pub good for the big games but as mentioned not as sports orientated as it could be. Never really had problem here with the staff and is in nice beer triangle with pheonix and blackfriars

Is it called a 'Sports bar' because you have to know the secret approach or nod to the bar staff to get served and in some way can this represent a 'sport'?
I have been here three times and only once was I served in a reasonable time.
The irony is that the one person who cared about the job was in fact a colonial foreigner and the laziest, crappest bar staff that could not be arsed working for a living were locals.
The last time I was here it took so long to get served I walked out never to return.

Seems unfair comments. Its the place to be on a Sunday night, and has good drink prices. Toilets aren't very good, but atmosphere at nights and during the old firm is brilliant.

Think the comments are a bit unfair considering the huge difference since its become Deeno's from shots. has darts board, pool table, dozens of signed SPL, premiership & lower scottish league club shirts, seve, several plasma's, great atmosphere, decent priced drinks and sunday's before g's are ace. definately deserves a better rating!!

I am self-barred from this place. It easily happens. Just spend 10 mins in here and most probably you too will be self-barred.

This place is unbeleivable. A very rude chubby owner who seems to have no idea what a sports bar realy is. I urge everyone to give this place a miss. And for all away supporters - there is no bus service to the games from here anymore so i really would not bother with it.

Made the mistake of going here to watch the Dons-Hibs game yesterday. Watched the 1st half with some mates, a few Dons fans and some Motherwell fans who were in for a pint before the Caley Thistle-Motherwell game. At half time they changed the channel for the Arsenal-Spurs game - fair enough. But, bar staff unsurprisingly didn't change the channel back for the 2nd half. We missed a penalty and a sending off before we finished our drinks and went next door to the Pheonix to watch the remainder of the game. A total disgrace, especially as everybody where i was sitting wanted to watch the Scottish game.

This was surely a cracking pub - I remember the old Rock Garden...Halcyon days, now sadly gone past.

Instead we have surly staff, cheesy music and a dangerous atmosphere combined with cheap pints.

It breaks my heart when I think about how good a bar this used to be! In its lafferty's days it was without doubt the best bar in town to watch live football and enjoy good banter! Will there ever be a ned preventing contraceptive?
