Citadel Bar
“There's an ice cream van parked round the back of the Citadel, visible from the junction - Phil McCone's Ices.”

“Had a great steak sandwich here last Saturday, washed down by a blissful couple of pints of Taylors Landlod bitter. Deuchars IPA also on tap. OK, so its a restaurant, but the beer is sublime.”

“I think that the wrong pubs in Inverness have been closed down. This place should have been top of the list. What a pit. Having said that if you want to go and listen to people gibbering tarrier claptrap its the place for you.”

“Excellant Bar! Also known as P.O'Ds & Dots Office.....heh heh heh you know's it!!! Still miss Patsy, THEE Best Best Barmaid I have ever seen, and believe me, as I have seen 1000's of them all over the world and not a patch on her!!!”

Citadel Bar
“Ah the Citadel! USed to be able to get a "Sub" out of the till, only because they knew that they would double up o it...lol Ok the "Flat People" were Casper (as mentioned) was an excellant Sparky in his day, Dennis, another excellant Sparky (what is with Electricians???) Stevie Mental, (would rob himself if thought he could get a pint out of it!)Saunders, where are you now?,Big Billy Mac a cracking gudgie, and a few other worthies, again another boozer where the craic used to flow and a lot of shenanigans went on in the flats which were behind the bar, a very sadly missed bar and some sadly missed people as well.”

Lochiel Bar
“Had my very first underage drink in here many many moons ago, it was then a real Merkinchers Bar, place was full to the neck and bouncing, what the Chemist didn't have over the road the boys in the Bar sure did!!! Sadly last time I was home in Inverness, which was only a few months ago I dragged my mate down with me to nostalgia land, there were about 5 or 6 people in the Bar, one of whom was actually a relation albeit very distant, it was very quiet and was sad to see it this way, say what you like when I was younger I had many a good night in here and amazing craic or should that be "Crack" (Joking!!!) but in its defence, and I know people are not going to believe this, the young barmaid that was working their was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, I kid ye not!!! Worth going in just to see her alone!!!”

Citadel Bar
“Went there one saturday afternoon, what an education!!! The bar man could have been straight off the set of Kung Fu he was grasshoppers double. There was a guy in the corner called Den hard as nails (in his own lunch time anyway) scooping Mcewans export like it was going out of fashion. Then there was his mate a boy who I think was in the haulage game, I didnt catch his name he was too drunk even to say it (some nose though). Then I met a race of people known as flat people. Why? I wasnt able to find out. These people included a cider swilling bloke named Casper who was shaking like nothing I have ever seen before and a boy called Jamesie Carter who had a face like a raspberry. I find it really sad that an institution like this has closed its doors as that was the one and only time I was in the place.”

“its a lovely bar, just a shame about the management in the place. get some new management in, get a juke box, and the place will be sorted. oh and get rid of the no head gear policy - baseball caps fair enough, but ive seen poor old pensioners that have been told to take their hats off which i think is taking it to far.”

“This bar used to be the Eagle. Basically, you had to be an alcoholic that stank to get in. My family and I built this up to be a respectable night out - changed the name, clientel, bar staff etc. There was an outcry from the regulars but we managed to make it into a profitable business. The place used to be jumpin' on a Friday & Saturday night. We gave it up over 3 years ago now and it just seems to have gone back to the way it was. It actually saddens me - from what we made of it to what it is now. ....it just shows you what hard work can do. Rant over. ”

“went to love2love last night on a hen night!! geared up 4 a great night in the vip lounge only to be shot down in a pile of flames by the power thirsty door man (you know who u r). Treated really badly by him. not impressed. the decor isnt that bad but the music was just rubbish. im not surprised that its no 51 on the ratings. G's was great!! i grew up in there!! love2love has such a long way to go to be a good nightclub, getting rid of a certain couple of members of staff would be a start!!!!”

“OK nice bar about time Inverness had somewhere nice to go but food!!! I recieved my prawn wrap minus the prawns, my friend son's meal was stone cold and it didn't even arrive altogether my friend didn't get her burger until I finished my wrap and that was after me sending it back!!! My advice if your looking to eat here go when it is quiet they cant seem to handle more that 4 tables for food service. Nice watering hole, always good for a few drinks.”
