Had a pretty ropey bar meal in here a couple of years ago and haven't eaten here since.
However the beer pouring is quality so an excellent pint is to be had, if you can get over the trampy staff and dregs who make up a third of the customers.

in for a meal few weeks ago, we will be back, nice bar
We were regular customers in the waterfront both for a few pints after work on a Saturday & for occasional meals, but we gave up on the place under the previous management, as we were constantly hassled about where we could sit, or not sit, which was usually the case.
I recently heard the pub was under new management & that my favourite singer, Kenny Jamieson, of the band Schiehallion, was doing a solo gig there on Thursday nights, so I decided to try the place again, I was pleasantly surprised by the much improved general atmosphere in the place, under the new management, and last Thursday 6 of us went there for a meal, we all agreed that the food we had was superb, the service was excellent & nothing seem a problem for the new manageress.
The Waterfront went under new management in April 2011.

His name is Sandy and he was the chef that was working last Friday night. I can't/won't comment if he was drunk or not but the food on the night was utter sh!te [And NOT inexpensive]. Not only that, the atmosphere in the place was utter crap and we were made to feel about as welcome as a fart in a lift. Apart from myself and my wife, there were only 2 others in the place. I've had more fun at a funeral [Nothing to do with my wife]. This was a huge mistake on our part, considering it was recommended to us in a local brochure we picked up in our hotel. We could/should have gone to the kitchen further along the road, paid a little extra and been appreciated more.
NEVER AGAIN TO THE WATERFRONT.
I visited this bar during the summer & it was the best food I had our whole trip! Will definitely travel all the way back to Inverness just to eat there again. Food & service was excellent!!!
Great pint, nice and friendly, food looked superb, but after a long walk up the river Ness, we just didn't have the legs to walk back down to the Waterfront, but its a first for a visit when were next in town.
Tried to gain entrance to this place one Saturday recently at 12.30pm. Doors were shut, woman inside saw us tapping on the window, ignored us.
So we went along the road to the Kitchen and had a splendid lunch washed down with Black Isle ales.
Great atmosphere at any time of day & very friendly bar staff
Missed the food serving times but the pints were nice and its a nice little pub.
food great but don't like unkept dogs at my feet scrounging put me right off
probably the best bar meals in inverness, very good reputation!
best steaks in town!
Good value food - steak pie dish is huge! Did have one waitress that was bit sharp with us 1st time round but apart from that they were quite friendly. Beer always tastes good too!
Average food, bad service and a terrible atmosphere. Once had a dodgy meal here tried to complain but was told the manager was too busy to speak to me and then was surounded by regulars trying to start on me - what a bunch of 4annys.
Fookin tim shop, apparently their bus leaves from there.
Was told I couldnt sit down as i wasnt eating so I ordered peanuts and told the moany bird i was eating now!
Customer service ....MEH
As a frequent visitor to Inverness, i visit the Waterfront at least 3 times on my twice yearly visits to Inverness. The food is excellent the service is top notch and in fact friends i took two years ago are returning this summer to sample more food from Inverness best eating establishment
the bar is great,
Really crap staff the blonds (old one & young one) behind the bar have got a really bad attutude, the guy who dose all the food is cool thow his wife just needs to learn some manners and act like a lady a bit more
I've eaten here recently & the food was pretty good, that said it was quite early on in the evening so maybe that's the way to go! Atmosphere was good too, very friendly & welcoming
