Formerly known as Chili Palmers and then, for a while, Bar Q, The Room does a decent burger or fish and chips. At the weekend, there is usually some really dirgy pub/dad rock band playing Stones or, god forbid, Stereophonics covers which can really hurt your ears and your soul. Not too bad overall, but would be helped with a few more beers on tap.
URBarred Second Opinion
In fact, some of the bands are pretty damn good - Arthur, Mystich Shoes and the Fumes for example.Didn't this used to be...?

popped in for a quick pint, slow service initially, considering it was quiet but descent enough place. didn't like the kitchen door being open to view to the public, so didn't eat there.
Had a meal and a few drinks, expensive for both, considering what you get, staff were first class, which eased the pain of the bill a bit.
Great bar for music, men from delmonte are awesome and the staff are all friendly
Closed for refurbishments after a flood when we visited, gutted.
Good location for a night out at the weekends! Great staff, Good music and the drink aint too bad either!
IF I'M OUT AND ABOUT IN TOWN FOR A FEW BEERS(AND THAT'S MOST FRI/SAT NIGHTS)THIS IS WHERE I USUALLY GO AS IT'S GOT THE BEST ATMOSPHERE,GOOD BEER(BIT PRICEY THO)GOOD BANDS,FRIENDLY STAFF,GREAT FOOD TOO.SOME FOLK I KNOW WISH IT HAD FOOTBALL ETC ON BUT I THINK THAT WOULD BE A GRAVE MISTAKE AS IT WOULD ONLY ATTRACT THE DICKHEADS.PLENTY SPORTS BARS IN TOWN ANYWAY.MAYBE THAT'S WHY IN ALL THE YEARS I'VE BEEN GOING THERE THERE'S NEVER BEEN ANY BOTHER.
Had some great nights here, fantastic atmosphere and the live music is nearly always very good. Oh and Food is great to. Gets a bit hot and sweaty though.
Food is really good and a cracking place for a night out!
Packed to the rafters last Saturday and had a half decent band on - much improved from when it was Chillis
been their a couple of times now and the food is great, and the BEER's not to bad either....LOL staff were freindly.....wats happened to the reely tall dark haired girl tina, very profesional and freindly going bk sooooooooon....
been going to the room for over a year now!excellent food! great bands and the best service in town!they all know how to smile and are really friendly!! wish some other pubs took note!!keep up the good work!!
Great band on Sat (Mystic shoes) definetly worth a look for live music venue, I think it may be taking over from Johnny Foxes as the place to see bands! Had food in there too, very good.
Food was stunning, very friendly service, will visit again.
Slowly becoming Inverness' best live music venue. Very little in the way of Scottish / Traditional music on show which draws in the younger crowd at the weekends. I am told that they actually pay 2 pro bands to travel from the central belt on a monthly basis to draw in a crowd. The food is excellent and the drink is reasonable with special offers usually available on shots etc.
The owner and bar staff are great fun and the bouncers are firm but fair!!
Look out for bands such as Ezra (Inverness), R4 / Arthur (from Glasgow) and Biro (Inverness)!!!
Think the problem with the band was their equipment not the music nobody could hear them.
I saw Hugo Drax's brief performance on Friday. Best band I've seen in there although it was a shame the manager saw fit to pull the plug because they were 12 minutes late in starting. I think they had a problem with a microphone lead. I saw them the previous night in Foxes - they rocked.
Great place, the chef is fantastic, drink a bit pricey but the live music is excellent, saw "The Shire" 10/10!!
Don't know what the food is like here, havent tried it yet, but is becoming a great little live music venue with a great atmosphere.
think they should advertise there bands a bit more, went in briefly one night there was a band playing they were really good plus the guy was Hot so extra bonus!!
the food has been brilliant everytime i have been in
a bit expensive on the drinks though
food wasn't up to much, drink choice ok but one of the barmaids has a seriously bad attitude, wouldn't bother going back while she's there
Live Music always makles for a better atmosphere that DJ's or background CD's. Friendly staff, Well priced Booze, Great Food.
Nice to see consistency every time you go to a Pub. Makes you want to go back often. This would be a great place for a group night out!!
Went in for dinner on saturday and had a brilliant meal from a new menu, which you could see being prepared. Variety of beers, lagers, wines and a new cocktail list!! Bar staff are hottie banter!! keep it up girls!!
Having been used to a pleasant meal at The Room, it was a great disappointment last week. The cheery waitress had gone and the food was well below the usual standard.
You know, this venue should get a damn site more credit than it does. Music most nights, and bloody good bands like Arthur and the Mystic Shoes. Tonight I saw The Fumes, (previously The Stir) and they were bloody good. (especially with FF's 'Take Me Out')
Why oh why don't they tell URBarred about what's on?, or at least set up their own website?
great food, music, and drink! but mostly food!
drink is over-priced, nice atmosphere and not too shabby food
SPEAK TO YOU LATER GRANT.
NOT ANOTHER BLODDY GIRVINS?? 4 UR GRANS
Yes, and guess who is interested?
Mr. Girvan himself. Wonder what he would do with it though?
Up for sale!
Pretty lame bar, with a lot of fair food if you eat meat.
The veggie choice is sub-standard and bland, a sandwich from the Co-op across the road will stand you in better stead!
Poor choice of beer, and the music ain't all it's cracked up to be.
Staff are very friendly and polite though, which always makes one want to return...
