This bar has been recently refurbished. Previously known as Barbazza's, they seem to be following a similar feel to The Room (owned by the same people).
The small dance floor and booths have gone, replaced by many more tables. The new layout seems much more geared towards food during the day and allows much more space for dancing in evening. They are now trying to book live music for most nights of the week and are open until 2AM every night of the week.

Well, initially a quick visit to this place en-route to somewhere else. One or two couples eating at around 6:30pm on a Friday night, and the staff were atentive enough to notice when one course was finished and when to bring the next. The rear of the venue was busy with pre-Christmas Night out drinkers before the moved elsewhere but service at the bar was slow. And £1.65 for a half pint of coke - so filled with ice it wouldn't have looked out of place at a MacDonald's or Burger King - now that really IS taking the piss out of those who have to (or choose to) remain sober or who are driving! Absolute rip off.
Venue looks spacious to being almost like 'where is the rest of your furniture' lool, and for a brief spell I may even have contemplated food, except the staff done something similar to the crew of the Marie Celeste, and vanished, leaving not even a slight sign of a menu. So with no menues, and no staff, I binned the eating idea.
For the first time I actually caught sight of a machine with multiples of plugs and cables purporting to 'charge your mobile phone' but it cost a £1 to do so. Strange concept as most bars I know would be wiling to let you plug in your phone for free.
Undecided on this place. Will definitely give it another chance but I get the impression it doesn't know where it's market is, or what it wants to be, and for a bar only across the bridge, and inside the inclusion zone of the expanding town (city) centre then it must surely make up it's mind soon if it's going to establish itself as a serious contender.
Mavericks is rubbish compared to when it was Barbazza.
It is inhabited by the same mutants every week who feel they must get celebrity treatment for being regulars, when infact they are only there becuase they are old, ugly and desperate.
The bar service is abysmally slow and the staff are about as driven as a stoned snail!
what a place, the banters excellent the craics good and the new managers brought something new to the place. defo where i go on a staurday night!
crackin place! aye may be quiet but credit crunch mate! lol. cant beat the weekends in that place! and the foods good. its getting stick for the name change too, trust me tho, same quality place!
Oh dear - if it was bad when it was Barbazza its worse now - was absolutely dead and we couldn't bail out quick enough
I hear there is a great Johnny Cash tribute, CASH BACK, coming on the 7 of November. I'll be there for sure.
These comments are slightly unfair, all old reviews as Mavericks only reopened in July 2008. Since then the atmosphere has changed, slightly wider audience, tribute acts seem worth the visit! Was there on Friday to see Kylie tribute, very good!
pick up joint cattle market the old guys think your there to be picked up dive get out quick
weird place. RUBBISH music. 4 mile hike to the toilets. Just generally bad!
what has happened here? used to be quite good, sinking fast
No matter what else you say about Barbazza's, the quiz is still a fantastic start to the weekend. Cheap booze and a great laugh.
quite frankly the biggest pint of pish in scotland not just inverness!
There is something nice about this place I think it might be nostalgia though. I used to go with my mate when he came up on Thursdays, we would go to the rock kareoke, we hated the people and the music but for some reason just liked it, probably due to JD & C's and they do good cold pints. You gotta ask for a squashed frog.
Brilliant pub quiz!!!
runnin on the original format nearly.much better than when flick( rhymes with) u guessed.was in charge. the downfall of this place. could be better!
Nice venue, decent music, drink etc
Ok for a few before boostin somewhere else
The urbarred team put on a sorry show to finish well off the front runners in the now essential Friday quiz. Get yourself along there!
Went to the quiz last Friday and it was a really good laugh. Not sure what the prize was but was well worth it for the free bubbly and platters of food!
bazza's did use to be a great bar specially on a thursday night old school rock but then the people going changed too? well to be honest im not sure how to describe them.... weird maybe???
The best hangover food in sneck-go the morning after, not the night before!
Update - now they're doing the quiz every Friday from about 6.00pm onwards. Sounds like a good way to start the weekend.
Nothing good to say about this bar. Pretentious decor and power mad bouncers.
Oh my God - what has happened to this place. The chefs have all walked out over the past few weeks and now it is just ordinary bar staff doing the cooking. I was in on Friday night as well and there were only 6 of us in - what on earth??!!??
