Fantastic live music venue. Best place to see a gig in Inverness. Charlatans 1st night, Therapy? & Calvin Harris were especially good fun.
Loads of room but can be a baron wasteland if nothing's playing or the crowd is sparse. Also a little expensive for drinks. The bouncers could learn to lighten up a little and let people have a good time. Although on the whole they seem like pretty good guys.
Here's hoping for the continued booking of high profile bands who've never ventured this far north before. They certainly managed pretty damn well in their first year (Primal Scream, Kasabian, the Happy Mondays, Buzzcocks and Dirty Pretty Things all in the same week!). And please please can we have tickets cheaper than a night at the opera??
Moan moan moan. Seriously, it is a great thing.

It's a bit telling the last comment regarding this place was on the 26th November 2009. Either people have no complaints or they've just given up because nothing ever gets done when people do. Become complacent about your venue and you'll find the public becoming complacent about attending I'm afraid. Who does the security here?

Dont get me wrong the ironworks is a god send to Inverness, but I believe they go about advertising badly. Unless you're a well known bad you're not even going to get the slightest bit of hype round here. They get no one to go round town to round up some ppl to tell them what's goin on. Plus the prices for bad bands like tower of london 10 quid. I really think they should lower the stage. Get rid of that stupid VIP bit (who are you trying to kid) lower their prices and get some atmosphere and hype for the smaller but talented bands.
had a fab night at saw doctors at ironworks last night. cheers to mick for a good time
I hope its true, but was drinking in the dublin castle and overheard pete and carl discussing their trip to the highlands, could pete be joining DPT at Isle of Skye or Ironworks????

For once I agree with Grandpa Barnes. Good to see some decent bands. Theres a few dodgy bar staff though, think the manager got desperate!!
Glad to see this place getting busier all the time. Now we're seeing some top bands (Mondays, Kasabian, Primals and Dirty Pretty Things all in a week?! Mental!) being booked hopefully it'll just get better and better. Great venue, cool bar staff, bouncers are sound .. just that (naught naughty - Ed) thats a pain in the ass.
Ha ha my first request has come true. Primal Scream tickets go on sale Friday 13th April at 10am.
Ok some gig suggestions (and i'm talking realistic ones, not Snow Patrol or Arctic Monkeys). Could we possibly see some Primal Scream (given McGee's links) or Teenage Fanclub??? Even some Jesus & Mary Chain now that they're back. Any others?
Excellent venue. Less tribute bands and more real acts would be better. For a music venue it's great that you don't have to wait in a queue for 30 mins to get a drink
Good one Ravens Claw. Granted, they aren't pumped up rawk but live they are a bit more upbeat and higher quality than the average fare you get around here.
RAYBEES! There was only a little number of people there cause the band sounds like Tepid Soapy water would if you gave it instruments.
Absolutely shameful crowd at Camera Obscura last night. I did a head count and there was 52 at most. Was this down to lazy Invernesians or bad promotion?
Great club, pity the sheepshaggers prefer the old dolly clone to supporting the best thing to happen in Inverness since Prince Andrew opened the MacKenzie centre, Inverness was still a town(no ouigi's) and Zammo was out of control!!
I agree! Who is he anyway? Some great bands coming up, heard in NME the Mondays are coming up!!!
Great venue typical Inverness no one turns up for Calvin Harris. Don't like the fat guy with the mohawk who thinks runs the place, he likes to throw his weight around.
Best thing to happen to Inverness for years! Everyone should be behind this place!!!
Everyone and i mean everyone should go to Death Disco nights whenever they are on. It makes for a great night with great indie music.
excellent for inverness
Pink Walls
Ended up at the Ironworks again last weekend. Went to Death Disco, £5 a ticket, great music, good laugh. Place was absolutely deserted though, bloody Inverness!
Was also surprised by a) how good Baby Shambles were, b) how fat you can get and still be a junkie and c) how the smoking ban doesn't apply if you're famous.
